The heavy-lift cargo was handled by two gantry cranes Gottwald in tandem, each with lifting capacity of 63 tons. The operation took about 40 minutes.
The imported transformers were delivered to the CPV by rail from St. Petersburg. The heavy equipment will be loaded to a specialized vessel, equipped with lifting equipment to work with the heavyweights, and transported to the port of Magadan. The final destination of delivery is Ust-Srednekan, the construction site of Ust-Srednekanskaya hydropower station.
CPV’s handling equipment including gantry and mobile cranes allows handling simultaneously the cargo weighing up to 200 tons. According to the stevedore company, there is currently no Far East port operator that could provide such service.
In September CPV handled a 170-ton autoclave for processing iron ore from a ship onto a rail carrier.
JSC Commercial Sea Port of Vladivostok (CPV) holds and manages assets at the sea port of Vladivostok, one of the largest seaports in the Russia’s Far East. CPV operates 17 berths, including the specialized ones - container, passenger, and automobile. CPV is part of the FESCO Transport Group. Last year’s throughput of the stevedoring company rose by 4.9% year-over-year, to 6.205.100 tons.
