VCT takes delivery of new Kalmar RTGs

JSC Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT) November 18, 2010 received two Kalmar rubber-tired gantry cranes each with lifting capacity of 45 tons, the company’s press service reported. The RTG cranes can handle both 20-foot and 40-foot containers.

The RTG cranes are equipped with Smartrail auto steering system, a container verification system (based on GPS) as well as electrical anti-sway system.  

The state-of-the-art technology applied in 150 RTGs worldwide, helps boost the productivity of the equipment by 20%. In addition, the latest generation cranes are almost entirely electric and have a minimum of hydraulics, which requires less maintenance and makes it more environmentally friendly.

Company Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT) is a container terminal, operating at the port of Vladivostok. The VCT handling facilities allow handling all types of containers, and cargos of almost any size and weight. Last year’s container throughput of VCT fell 15% y-o-y to 205,518 TEUs.
