FTS approves charges increase for services of White Sea-Onega Waterway

The Russian Federal Tariff Service Board (FTS) at a meeting on 22 November 2010 approved increased rates of charges for services provided by FSI White Sea-Onega State Basin Department of Waterways and Navigation for the use of inland waterways infrastructure, the FTS press service reported.

Current charges rates from ships for the use of inland waterways infrastructure and services provided by the White Sea Canal, were approved by the FTS order (N49-t / 4) dated 25 March 2008 (Annex 2 to the Order).

Russian FTS approved charges rates for services provided by White Sea Canal:  navigation charges  in the area of the White Sea-Nadvoitsy - at 6.223 ruble/1000cbm/km, Nadvoitsy - Povenets - at 3.149 ruble/1000cbm/km, Petrozavodsk-Povenets-Vozneseniye, Vytegra - 0.689 ruble/1000cbm/km (up14% to the current rate); rate of pilotage dues in the amount of 491.31 ruble/hour (up 14% to the current level); canal dues in the area of the approach canal to the port of Belomorsk – at 439.67 ruble/1000cbm/km per passage (up by 14% to the current level); tonnage dues at the port Belomorsk - at 398.82 ruble/1000cbm/km (by 5% from current rate); light dues at the site of the approach canal to the port Belomorsk - at 233.75 ruble/1000cbm/km per passage (up by 3.9%).

White Sea-Onega State Basin Department of Waterways and Navigation serves the White Sea-Baltic Canal route. White Sea Canal connects the White Sea with Lake Onega and has access to the Baltic Sea and the Volga-Baltic Waterway. The total length of the canal with 19 locks is 227 km.
