Pilots were getting ready to reboard their ships in the Houston Ship Channel, which had been closed early Tuesday morning due to fog, according to a spokesman for the U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday.
The channel was closed at 2:20 a.m. local time for fog. There were 14 inbound vessels waiting to enter the channel while eight were scheduled to leave by early Tuesday.
The Coast Guard spokesman said there were no delay issues because the closure was brief.
