STX OSV’s second Brazilian shipyard has been granted an environmental license allowing construction to go ahead. STX OSV subsidiary Estaleiro Promar has been granted the license for construction of the new yard in Suape. “With the environmental license in place, the yard development project will progress without delay,” the company said. Construction of the yard is to start in the second quarter of 2011, with first vessels starting to be built at the yard in 2012. The yard is expected to be fully operational in 2013. The first vessels to be built at the yard will be eight LPG carriers for Transpetro.
