KSCP’s throughput in Q1 grows 17.6% to 878,400 tons

Freight volume handled by JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP) in the I quarter of 2011 increased by 17.6% compared to January-March 2010 to 878,400 tons, the KSCP’s statistics said.

In the reporting period the stevedore handled 674,6 million tons (+4%) of exported goods, including 89,300 tons of bulk cargo (+46.9%), 415,900 tons of general cargo (+5.3%) and 150,500 tons of petroleum products (-17%).

In March cargo throughput of Kaliningrad port rose by 5% to 322,500 tons.

JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is the stevedore company operating at the Port of Kaliningrad. The port is a gateway for almost all types of transport and major export-import freight flows passing through the region. In 2010, cargo throughput of KSCP rose as much as 1.4 times year-over-year to 3,640,700 tons.
