NCSP Group’s container volume in the reporting period soared 77.6% to 153,000 TEUs. The growth trend was driven by JSC Novolesexport box throughput (115.8%), the terminal of Baltic Stevedoring Company (105.4%) and NCSP (13.5%).
The Group handled in Jan-Mar. 2011 31,894,000 tons of liquid bulk (-0.2%), including some 27 million tons of crude oil (-3.3% yoy), 4,737,000 tons of petroleum products (+25.1%) and 75,400 tons of liquid fertilizer (-37.8%) .
NCSP posted a 42.9-percent drop in the segment of bulk cargoes (-2,154m tons), due to Russian grain exports ban. The bulk cargo volume decline was partially offset by increased volumes of mineral fertilizer, iron ore and raw sugar.
General cargo throughput in Jan-Mar., 2011 totaled 2,275,000 tons, down 21.6% from last year’s figures.
