Transport Ministry calls for fair play in Novorossiysk

According to the decision of a meeting held last week at the Academy of Adm. Ushakov in Novorossiysk, the companies providing towing and bunker services at the seaport of Novorossiysk should observe the contractual relationship. The meeting was headed by Russian Deputy Minister of Transport Viktor Olersky, PortNews reported citing the press service of Rosmorport, whose representatives participated in the meeting.

The meeting participants said that the companies providing the services on the market of Novorossiysk port should "ensure compliance with the requirements of the Federal Law № 261-FZ of November 8, 2007 "On sea ports in the Russian Federation" concerning the equal access of market participants to the port infrastructure and services at the seaport, and should not tolerate in the future unfair competition and other actions that may reduce the commercial attractiveness of the port"

Previously, PortNews reported the Federal Antimonopoly Service had initiated the case of abuse of market dominance against IPP JSC operating at Port of Novorossiysk. The ground for legal action was a petition of several companies, including Trans Oil Service Ltd, ERA LLC., Transbunker-Novo, LLC, Black Sea Towing Company LLC, submitted to FAS on December 13, 2010.
