Exports of Russian oil and petroleum products through Primorsk Export Oil Terminal (Primorsky Trade Port, Leningrad region) in January-March 2011 shrank by 6% compared with the figure of Q1, 2010, to 17,759,100 tons, the Port Authority statistics said. The volume crude oil shipment fell by 6% to 16,316,500 tons, of petroleum products - rose 2% to 1,442,600 tons.
In March, handling of cargo was down by 4% to 6,554,700 tons. Monthly volume of crude exports decreased by 5% to about 6 million tons, of petroleum products - rose 8% to 547,500 tons.
Primorsky Trade Port (PTP) is Russia’s premier port in the country’s North-West region for exports of oil and petroleum products. The Primorsk Oil Terminal is the terminus of the Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) and main pipelines Kstovo-Yaroslavl-Kirishi-Primorsk (North Project) and JSC Transnefteproduct. In 2010, Primorsk Oil Terminal handled 77,540,300 million tons of exported crude oil, a 2-percent decline year-over-year.
