In the reporting period, oil products exports fell by 3.5% to 1,65 million tons, the volume of ferrous metals slumped as much as 1.5 times from last year’s figure, to 840,800 tons, while shipment of nonferrous metals rose 1.7 times to 127,600 tons, of anthracite - by 1.2 times to 729,000 tons, exports of timber grew 4% to 191.700 tons (due to handling of round timber). Container traffic dropped by 1.5 times to 415,000 TEUs.
In March, Nakhodka port’s cargo throughput rose by 2.9 percent to 1,34 million tons. Monthly volume of petroleum products grew 3% to 556,800 tons, handling of ferrous metals dropped by 21.3% to 322,500 tons, nonferrous metals increased by 28% to 41,600 tons. Exports of anthracite coal soared 42% to 317,500 tons, of timber cargo - by 11,5% to 76,100 tons. Monthly container volume rose 20% to 130,000 TEUs.
Russian Port of Nakhodka is located in the northern Bay of Nakhodka. The year-round navigable Port is connected via Trans-Siberian Railroad with the railway network of Russia and Western Europe. In 2010, Port of Nakhodka handled 15,32 million tons, down 2.6% from a year earlier.
