OOCL posts Q1 results

Box line Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has reported higher lifting volumes overall and revenues in the first quarter of this year, it said in a statement Tuesday. The Hong Kong-listed firm stated that total volumes increased 12.6% to 1.18m teu in the first quarter from the corresponding period last year. The lvolumes are from services in the transpacific, Asia/Europe, trans-Atlantic and intra-Asia/Australasia.
Total revenues for the quarter rose by 17.2% to $1.33bn, compared to $1.13bn recorded in the same quarter of 2010. Overall average revenue per teu also rose by 4.2% compared to the same period last year.
