Port of Taman’s Q1 throughput up 33% to 61,500 tons

Cargo volume handled at the port of Taman in January-March 2011 increased by 33% from last year’s figures, to 61,490 tons, the Taman Port Authority reports. Handling of imported vegetable oil for Food Ingredients Ltd. accounts for the total three-month cargo volume.

Food Ingredients Ltd is one of the investors and developers of the seaport. In 2008, The Phase 1 of transshipment complex of Food Ingredients, the facility for production of specialized oils, was launched in 2008. Currently, the developer is building the complex second phase - the marine terminal for bulk cargo. In 2010, the company handled 247,420 tons.
