No ship needs icebreakers assistance in the Gulf of Finland

According to the Port Authority of Big Port St. Petersburg there were no vessels that requested icebreaker assistance in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland as of today, April 21st (8:00am - MT). The Port Authority reported of total 24 merchant ships currently located in the water area. Two tankers to be towed to the port’s berths.

Over the past day 21 ships have reached the entrance buoy of St Petersburg port. 28 vessels are westbound from the Gulf area, 13 ships called at the port and15 - departed. Overall, there are 54 cargo ships and 411 local ships at the port. There are no vessels subject to ice restrictions at the region’s seaports, the Port Authority said.
