NESC’s cargo ship to set sail after refitting at Lixin Shipyard

Chinese Lixin Shipyard has completed scheduled repair of dry cargo ship "Eastern Sun" for North-Eastern Shipping Company (part Transit DV Group), the Russian company’s press service said.

At Thursday, April 21, 2011, the ship hoisted the Russian flag. Now, the cargo ship is about to head for one of the Russian ports in Primorsky Territory, after completion of all legal procedures.

North-Eastern Shipping has operated the Eastern Sun since May 2010. Until now, the vessel has worked on contracts in the Middle East. This turns to be the vessel’s first visit to Russia, where she will be engaged in energy resources deliveries to the northern regions of Russia’s Far East.

North-Eastern Shipping Company Llc, established in 2009, owns a fleet flying the Russian flag. The operator specializes in shipping of liquid, bulk and general cargoes, including coal and petroleum products. The annual volume of cargo transported by the operator’s vessels is some 1 million tons.
