Net income of TransContainer for the first quarter of 2010 according to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) surged as much as 26 times from Q1, 2010 to RUB 512,7 million, the company press service reported. TransContainer's revenue for the period increased by 47.8% to 6 billion 262.7 million rubles.
Positive dynamics of the company's financial performance was due to increased services volume, as well as the implementation of measures aimed at improving the profitability of TransContainer business. According to refined data, the growth in container traffic of TransContainer in Q1, 2011 was 23.5% over the same period in 2010, handling at terminals rose 16.3%.
TransContainer is a subsidiary of Russian railway monopoly RZD. The operator’s net income for 2010 increased by more than 18 times year-over-year, to RUB 404,2 million.
