Net income at the state-owned company increased to 663 million krooni ($62 million) from 408 million krooni a year earlier, the Economy Ministry said in an e-mailed statement today. Revenue rose nine percent to 1.36 billion krooni as the throughput of goods gained 16 percent and the volume of passengers grew nine percent.
Tallinna Sadam is the third-largest operator by cargo throughput on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea after the Russian ports of Primorsk and Saint Petersburg, according to company website. It handled 36.7 million tons of goods last year, mainly shipments of fuel oil from Russia.
