Khabarovsk Shipyard builds ASD tugs for Rosneft

Khabarovsk Shipbuilding Plant (part of United Shipbuilding Corp, USC) on April 26, 2011 began construction of one ice-class Azimuthal Stern Drive tug (Project 2310), plus one in option ordered by Rosneft, the press-service of Rosnefteflot reports.

The vessels designing and construction is carried out under the supervision of a team of experts of CJSC Rosnefteflot, representatives of the designer - Damen Shipyard (Netherlands), Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, Far Eastern Center of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (a subsidiary of USC) as well as the shipbuilder’s specialists. The vessels delivery is scheduled for 2012.

Khabarovsk Shipyard is part of USC’s Far East Center of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair. The firm specializes in the construction of vessels for the Russian Navy.

Rosneft is the leader of the Russian oil industry and one of the largest public oil and gas companies worldwide. The principal activities of Rosneft are exploration and production of oil and gas, petroleum products and petrochemicals, and marketing of these products. The company is included in the list of Russian strategic enterprises. State-owned Rosneftegaz holds a 75.16-percent stake in Rosneft as at  April 1, 2011.

Rosnefteflot was established on the basis of the Far Eastern Marine exploratory drilling in July 1998. Provides tug fleet services. Shareholders of the company - Rosneft and Sovcomflot. Rosnefteflot has its branches in Murmansk, Nakhodka, St. Petersburg and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The company’s fleet comprises 25 vessels of various purposes.
