July death toll in Russia’s water transport grows to 130

At least 130 people died in July this year at the facilities of sea and river transport, the State Maritime Rescue Coordination Center said.

There have been seven people reported missing, one dead, 8 injured, 95 people rescued as of the end of July.

The Bulgaria boat sinking on July 10, 2011 added to the death toll 122. The ship sank on the 1406th km of the river Volga in the Kuibyshev reservoir in Tatarstan. On July 31 eight passengers on board a pleasure boat were killed in its collision with a cargo barge on the Moscow River.
