CMA CGM and Chilean carrier CSAV will jointly operate a direct container service between Asia and West Africa, starting early next month, Journal of Commerce reports. The new VSA calls for deployment of 10 vessels with capacities ranging from 2,500 to 3,100 20-foot equivalent units.
The port rotation of the “New Discovery Service” will be: Ningbo, Shanghai, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Port Kelang, Lagos, Lome, Tema, Abidjan, Port Kelang and back to Ningbo.
The weekly service will start with the sailing of the Celina Start from Ningbo, China, on Aug. 2.
