Eighteen seaports of Ukraine in January-July 2011 handled 63 601 776.2 tons of cargo, up 3.4% over the same period in 2010, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine said.
In July, the country’s ports handled 7283171.2 tons including: oil and petroleum products - 802 870 tons, chemicals (liquid bulk) - 371 800 tons, coal - 1146370 tons, ore – 1 449 060 tons, chemical fertilizer (bulk) - 515 100 tons, grain cargo - 206 370 tons, ferrous metals – 1 067 620 tons, timber cargo - 63 600 tons and building materials – 446 021.2 tons.
The leading Yalta port handled 62% more cargo than a year before. Evpatoria port reported an increase of 43.1%, the port Yuzhny demonstrated a 36.5 percent surge, Reni port - an increase of 32.6%, Berdyansk port’s cargo volume grew by 13.4%, Nikolaev port – by 13.4%, Kerch port - an increase of 5.1%.
