Rosnefteflot, RN Bunker in time-charter agreement for a bunkering tanker

Rosnefteflot and RN Bunker have entered into a time-charter agreement for the RN Taurus, a modern bunkering vessel that was put into service at the port of Tuapse on August 5, 2011, Rosnefteflot said. The time-charter period was not specified.

The agreement was signed by Ivan Ignatov, Deputy General Director of JSC Rosnefteflot for regional development and RN Bunker’s Krasnodar office director Andrey Votinov.

The RN Taurus is a state-of-the-art tanker, built in 2007 in Turkey. The ship is fully consistent with the technical requirements. The Russian-flagged vessel has additional bunker equipment and equipment to prevent oil spills. The RN Taurus displacement is 3569 tons. The tanker has two controllable-pitch propellers propulsive system, bow thruster with rated power at 300 kW, pumps of capacity of 150 m3/hr installed in each cargo tank, and integrated automated control system.

Port of Tuapse is located on the Black Sea’s North-East, Tuapse Bay, Krasnodar Territory. The Tuapse harborage is separated from seaway by the South pier, southwestern and western breakwaters. Tuapse ranks second, next to Novorossiysk, major port that enables exports of Russian petroleum products. In 2010, the port handled 18.61 million tons of cargoes.
