The main engine of MV Belomoriye (home port of Arkhangelsk, owner Arcticraid LLC) failed on August 8, 2011 while the ship was in the White Sea, the Russian Ministry of Transport said. According to the State Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, there were six crew members and 32 passengers on board.
The regional Marine Rescue and Coordination Centre of Arkhangelsk dispatched its MV Tekhnolog Konyukhov to the scene. The problem was solved by the crew and the ship continued its voyage escorted by the salvage vessel. On early August 9 the MV Belomoriye docked at the port ofArkhangelsk.
