Throughput of the port of Nakhodka in January - July 2011 decreased by 6.9% compared to the same period last year, to 8.75 million tons, the Port Authority said.
The seven-month volume includes 2.1m tons of anthracite, 24.5% more than a year before, 1.92m tons of ferrous metals, a 30 percent decline, 277 300 tons of nonferrous metals (+30.2 %) and 3.84m tons of petroleum products, down 9.1% from last year’s numbers.
Nakhodka port's container traffic fell by 11.9% to 1094 TEUs.
In July, cargo traffic at the port was down 4.5% to 1.25m tons, container throughput slumped by 41.3% to 145 TEUs.
Russian Port of Nakhodka is located in the northern Bay of Nakhodka. The year-round navigable Port is connected via Trans-Siberian Railroad with the railway network of Russia and Western Europe. In 2010, Port of Nakhodka handled 15.32 million tons, a 2.6 percent decline year-on-year.
