Murmansk port H1 profit plunges 30.2 percent

Net profit of JSC Murmansk Commercial Seaport for the first half of this year to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) decreased by 30.2% compared with the same period of 2010, to RUB 138 534 000, the company said.

Revenue for the period fell 3.7 percent to RUB 1 403 254 000. Operation profit margin of the company dropped 11.7% versus 19.65% a year earlier.

Murmansk Commercial Seaport was founded in 1994. The stevedore company operates at the port of Murmansk, the forth largest Russian port by volume of handled cargo. The company operates 17 berths with total length of about 3 km, enabling accommodation of vessels with draft of 15.5 m and length of more than 265 m. In 2010, MCS JSC handled 12.8 million tons.
