Container trade of China Port of Hong Kong in January-July 2011 increased by 3.3% compared to the seven-month period of last year, to 13.93 million TEUs, the Port Authority said.
Seven-month container throughput of the largest terminal in Kwai Tsing rose by 2.9 percent from a year earlier, to 10.1 million TEUs, while other terminals demonstrated a 4.6 percent growth, to 3.82 million TEUs.
In July, container traffic at the port was up 2.8 percent to 2.12 million TEUs.
Port of Hong Kong is one of the largest ports in the world. In 2010, Hong Kong port's container trade totaled 23.69 million TEUs.
