The Russian Ministry of Regional Development will include the project of a new deepwater port near Arkhangelsk and Belkomur mainline project in the program of development of North-West Federal District until 2020. The decision was initiated by the authorities of Arkhangelsk region and the Komi republic, the Arkhangelsk regional government said.
"The construction project was also approved by the Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport of the Russian Federation and the Federal agency Rosmorrechflot," said an official of the regional Ministry of economic development.
Thanks to its location, Arkhangelsk could be the most convenient key transit point both for the Northern Sea Route and for the logistics and distribution center, a base providing supply of oil and gas projects, the Arkhangelsk government said.
