Transshipment of transit seaborne cargo through the Ukrainian ports in January-June 2011 surged by as much as 1.9 times from H1, 2010, to 2 687 920 tons, Ukraine’s statistics service (Goskomstat) said.
However, there was a 22.6 percent decline in transit cargo in Q2, 2011 to 1 million 172 thousand tons.
Half-year volume of transit cargo carried by Ukraine's railroads grew by 15.8 percent to 25 066 000 tons.
According to the State Committee of Statistics, total cargo transits through the country’s territory in the first half of the year rose 9.9% over the same period of 2010, to 82 637 000.
