The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) has allowed St. Petersburg-headquartered Transoil Ltd. and two Moscow-based divisions of Globaltrans, Sevtekhnotrans LLC and JSC New Forwarding Company, to purchase a 75 percent stake minus 2 shares of JSC Freight One, the anti-trust agency said.
Russian Railways Board in April approved the stake sale at the auction, with some restrictions for bidders. Suggested opening bid (SOB) for the stake was RUB115.5 billion. RZD President Vladimir Yakunin noted that after the stake revaluation its price could rise by 20%.
JSC Freight One is a leading provider of rail transportation in Russia. The Freight One was formed in 2007 by state-run Russian Railways (RZD) that holds a 100-percent stake in the company. Currently FO owns and operates a fleet of over 200,000 units of rolling stock. In 2010, the rail operator carried 302,3 million tons of different cargoes.
Transoil Ltd. specializes in the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products. The Company owns and operates a fleet of 36 locomotives and 29 800 tank cars.
Globaltrans is a private rail freight carrier. The company operates in Russia, Estonia and Ukraine.
