Neva-Metal’s box volume is up 4 percent

Container throughput of CJSC Neva-Metal for the last seven months of this year rose by 4% compared to the same period of last year, to 18 500 TEUs, the terminal owner said on Friday.

Severstal JSC said that the terminal’s total output was 1.3 million tons, on a par with last year’s figure.
Handling of ferrous metals produced by Severstal at Neva-Metal terminal in Jan-Jul amounted to over 900000 tons, which accounts for 69% of total cargo throughput.

Shipments of general cargo totaled about 50 000 tons (4% of the terminal throughput for the period). The volume of bulk and grab bulk cargo rose to 35 000 tons, or 3% of total handled volume.  

CJSC Neva-Metal is a division of Cherepovetsk Severstal.
Neva-Metal specializes in handling ferrous metals exported by Cherepovetsk Severstal, secondary metals from Severstal-Vtormet and containerized cargo at the berths located in the third cargo area of Big Port St. Petersburg. Throughput of the stevedoring company in 2010 amounted to 2.374 million tons.
