Russia’s transport safety watchdog discharges 6 execs over Bulgaria sinking case

The Federal Service Committee for Transport Supervision (Rostransnadzor) announced it had revealed numerous violations in the organization and in carrying out supervision at Volga Department of the State Maritime and River Control. Six executives of the Department have been dismissed, the Ministry of Transport said.

"Currently, six employees of this department have been dismissed from the civil service. The head of Kazan line department Mr. Timirgaziev was taken into custody. Two executives of Rostransnadzor central office were disciplined," the Ministry said.

The conducted inquire is associated with investigation into the Bulgaria cruise boat sinking in Tatarstan. The death toll in the accident was 122.
