Hapag-Lloyd announced general rate increases, effective. Oct. 1, for shipments between the U.S., Canada and Mexico and North Europe and the Mediterranean, the Journal of Commerce reports.
Increases for eastbound and westbound trans-Atlantic shipments to and from the U.S. and Canada are set to rise by $240 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container, said the German ocean carrier.
Rates between Mexico and North Europe and the Mediterranean will increase by $200 per 20-foot container and $250 per 40-footer.
