Maersk starts AC-3 service calls at Vostochny container terminal

Maersk Line’s 4389teu Maersk Drammen commenced “AC-3”, a new regular weekly container service at the terminal of Global Ports’ Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC), the VSC press service said.

The customer-focused service launched at Port Vostochny features web-based fill bill option for prior cargo declaration, which will significantly reduce the time of customs clearance of the ship and get permission for cargo operations.

The service rotation includes: Lazaro Cardenas (Mexico) - Balboa (Panama) - Buenaventura (Colombia) - Lazaro Cardenas (Mexico) - Vostochny (Russia) - Qingdao (China) - Pusan (South Korea) - Kwangyang (South Korea) - Yokohama (Japan) - Lazaro Cardenas (Mexico). There are eight Panamax container ships operating on the service. In addition, ocean-going vessels of FESCO China Direct Line (FCDL), Sinokor Merchant Marine Co. and ZIM call at VSC terminal.

Overall, Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company’s container terminal handles vessels of Maersk Line; Sinokor Merchant Marine; APL; CKL, KMTC, PCL; SASCO; FESCO: China Direct Line (FCDL); joint Japan Trans Siberian Line (JTSL); Korean Soviet Direct Line (KSDL). Short sea trade lines: LLC Kamchatka Lines, TEP; FML (FESCO Magadan Line).

Maersk Line is the world’s largest ocean carrier, which owns about 470 container ships and 1.9 million containers. The Company has offices in 125 countries.

Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company LLC is the largest container terminal in the Russian Far East, based at Port Vostochny. VSC LLC is majority owned by Global Ports Investments (75%). 25% of shares in VSC are owned by DPW port operator.

Global Ports Investments PLC is a leading container terminal operator on the Russian market. According to Drewry, Global Ports’ throughput accounts for 30% of the total container traffic of Russian ports, and 28% of fuel oil exports from the former Soviet Union counties. Global Ports is part of N-Trance Group, which is a largest private operator in the market of transport services of Russia.
