Minister offers to redeploy hazardous terminals from Kaliningrad
Terminals for handling oil products and other hazardous products located in the existing port of Kaliningrad should be removed, the regional government press service reports quoting Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin.
Mr. Levitin, who was visiting the region, told the Ministry’s meeting on the development of the local transport complex the terminals should be redeployed to the new deep-water port that is projected for construction in Kaliningrad region.
Implementation of the new port project worth RUB 288 billion will allow construction of the transport hub capable of handling annually over 131 million tons.
