FCT, LT takes delivery of new handling equipment
CJSC First Container Terminal (FCT) and CJSC Logistika-Terminal (LT), members of National Container Company (NCC), have taken delivery of new equipment handle containerized cargo at the terminals’ container yards, NCC said Wednesday.
FCT received four Kalmar terminal tractors of capacity of 32 tons and four Seacom semitrailers of capacity of 65 tons. Logistika-Terminal also took delivery of an additional Kalmar tractor.
The equipment was tailored to the needs of the terminals and will be commissioned with other four RTG-cranes, which had been earlier delivered to FCT in line with NCC investment program and expansion of handling equipment operating at the off-dock container yard.
“The development program of First Container Terminal is aimed at expansion of its capacity to 1.6 million TEUs by 2015. Today, the facility’s annual throughput is 1.35 million TEUs. Expansion of Logistika-Terminal will boost its container throughput to 200,000 TEUs a year," FCT said.
