NCSP Group's throughput rises 1 percent in Jan-Sept
Total cargo traffic at the terminals of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group (NCSP) in January-September 2011 increased by 1% year-on-year to 117,233,800 tons, the Group said Friday.
The nine-month throughput of the Group includes traffic volumes handled by Primorsk Trade Port Ltd., acquired by NCSP in January 2011.
Container traffic at the Group’s box terminals surged by 37.4% to 447,700 TEUs. Exports of liquid bulk cargo increased by 2.6% to 2,515.700 tons, including 84,286,300 tons of crude oil (-0.9% y-o-y). Shipments of petroleum products leaped by 35.8% to 12,996,900 tons, including 4,219,000 tons of diesel fuel handled YTD at Primorsk-based two berths leased by the Group.
In September, the NCSP’s grain terminal handled 1,166.300 tons, a record high of the Group. Overall, exports of grain cargoes in Jan-Sept. totaled 3,041,100.
Transshipments of iron ore and ore concentrate soared 91.6 percent from a year earlier, fertilizer volume rose by 11 percent, sugar – by 10%.
In the reporting period handling of general cargoes fell 14.7% to 7,0 64,300 tons. Exports of timber cargo slumped 50 percent, of ferrous metals – by 12.8 percent vs last year’s figure.
Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port is the largest Russian port operator and the 3rd operator in Europe in terms of cargo turnover. NCSP shares are traded on Russia's MICEX exchange (NMTP) and on the London Stock Exchange in the form of GDRs (NCSP). NCSP Group consolidated cargo turnover in the 1st half of 2011 totaled 76.8 million tons, and consolidated revenue to IFRS for the 1st half of 2011 totaled $494.1 million and net profit of $308.0 million. NCSP Group combines the following stevedore companies: OJSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, PJSC Primorsk Trade Port (since 2011), PJSC Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, OJSC Novorossiysk Shipyard, PJSC Fleet of NCSP, OJSC NLE, OJSC IPP, and Baltic Stevedoring Company Ltd.
