Transneft resumes crude exports to China

Transneft oil pipeline monopoly resumed oil supplies to China (as of 17:00, MT) via the Eastern Siberia Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline, halted earlier on Friday following a 5.9-magnitude earthquake in the far eastern Amur region, RIA Novosti reports.

"Oil exports to China have resumed," spokesman Igor Dyomin said.

Export Oil Terminal based in Kozmino bay in Primorsky Territory is the terminus of the ESPO pipeline, which carries some 300,000 brl/day to China. The oil is delivered by railway from Skovorodino in oil tanks to the marine terminal. The crude oil is exported from the terminal to Asia-Pacific countries. The pipeline is still under construction. The ESPO first phase capacity is 30 million tons a year, expandable to 50 million tons.
