RTL to dedicate Novya Gavan Ro-Ro terminal in Ust-Luga

The group of companies RTL plans to commission on November 11, 2011 Novaya Gavan (New Harbor) marine terminal in the port of Ust-Luga, the Company said Monday.

The new marine terminal built by RTL is located within the boundaries of Ust-Luga port and was designed for handling Ro-Ro, container and general cargoes. The terminal encompasses a total of 64.87 hectares expandable to 193.12 hectares. The terminal has one 8.5m-deep berth for rolling cargo, 150-m-long quay wall. The second berth is scheduled for commissioning in 2013.

"Novaya Gavan" is located close to the main customs offices and has access to two highways A-121 and M-11, which connect the port with St. Petersburg and the highway St. Petersburg - Tallinn (Estonia).

RTL Board Chairman Konstantin Skovoroda says: “The capacity of Ro-Ro terminals based at the Big Port St. Petersburg is limited the city’s transport infrastructure. Therefore, we can increase vehicles imports in the Russian Gulf of Finland only by building and commissioning new terminals.".
