NCRW boosts exports/imports handling by 5.9 percent in September
Handling of outbound and inbound goods passing through the port stations of the North Caucasian Railway in September 2011 rose by 5.9 percent from last year’s figure, to 3.4 million tons, Russian Railways said Tuesday.
The monthly volume loaded / unloaded at Novorossiysk port’s railyard grew by 13.4 percent mainly due to grain cargo, shipped through the rail stations of Novorossiysk and Tuapse.
Shipments of oil products through the port of Tuapse boosted the monthly throughput of NCRW by 64 percent compared with cargo volumes handled at the Tuapse railroad facilities last year.
In the reporting period, a 17 percent gain in monthly volume of exports/imports handled by NCRW railyard based in Temryuk was fueled by increased shipments of coal from the port terminal.
