Criminal case of MV Dunaisky-66 master brought before court
Investigation into a criminal case against the MV Dunaisky-66 captain Alexander Yegorov, who did not render any assistance to survivors of the sunken passenger boat Bulgaria, has been completed, the matter has been taken to law, Volga regional Investigation Committee said.
Captain Yegorov is facing charges under Art. 270 of the Criminal Code (failure to render aid to people in distress).
According to the investigation, Alexander Yegorov, who was the captain of MV Dunaisky-66 at the time of the Bulgaria disaster, on July 10, 2011 in violation of the Inland Water Transport Code of the Russian Federation did not take all possible measures needed to rescue people in distress and passed by the site of Bulgaria shipwreck.
