Safmarine switches calls from Morocco to Spanish ports

Belgium-based shipping line Safmarine will suspend its service to Morocco's Port of Tangiers and will relocate its business to the Spanish ports of Algeciras and Malaga, which are working more efficiently, according to the carrier, reported ADPnews.

The combination of repeated disruptions and a lack of any guarantee of improvements in the foreseeable future has prompted the decision to move business out of the African port, the company pointed out.

In the Spanish ports, Safmarine will use facilities of its sister company, container ports operator APM Terminals, part of Danish group AP Moller Maersk, and South Korean line Hanjin Shipping.
