Guangzhou port throughput up to 1.01 million TEUs in September
China's Guangzhou port recorded container volume of 1.01 million TEUs in September, a 24.6 percent year-on-year jump, reported ADPnews.
The result took container volumes at the port to 8.3 million TEUs in the first nine months of the year, a rise of 17 percent from the respective period in 2010.
The port has benefited from the launch of three services by Maersk Line and Pacific International Lines (PIL) at its Nansha terminal last month.
However, Guangzhou Port Group, which operates the facility, said it expected business to shrink this month as the peak shipping season comes to an end. It also noted the slowdown in Asian exports experienced by other port operators.
