Sembcorp Marine yard gets tanker conversion contract

Sembawang Shipyard, in a consortium arrangement with Scorpa Pranedya, secured a $300m floating storage offloading (FSO) tanker conversion contract from Mobil Cepu, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, Seatrade Asia online reports. The shipyard, a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and hook-up work of a VLCC-sized FSO vessel for the Banyu Urip project in Indonesia.
The vessel is expected to be deployed in offshore Tuban, East Java. The project is slated to be completed 27 months after contract award.
