MSC to hike rates on Far East/Asia - West Africa/Angola trade

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) to be implemented on all cargo shipped from Far East / Asia to West Africa and Angola, the MSC news release said.

The GRI will constitute US$ 250 per TEU, effective as of April 1, 2012, the Company said.

Geneva-headquartered Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC) was founded in 1970. Now it is the world's second shipping line in terms of container vessel capacity. MSC's fleet, which operates in all major ports of the world, comprises 444 vessels and has a capacity of 1,925,000 TEUs.
