Icebreakers escort ships convoys to Azov Sea ports

Icebreakers owned by Rosmorport the Kapitan Moshkin and the Kapitan Krutov continue assisting shipping in the Sea of Azov. The Kapitan Moshkin has escorted a convoy of merchant ships to the anchorage of Taganrog port, the Azov Sea Ice Ops HQ said.


As of 5:00pm, the icebreaker was guiding three ships to the harbor, while another icebreaker Kapitan Krutov was cutting a path for a caravan of seven ships to the port of Yeysk.


The Kapitan Demidov and the Kapitan Chudinov continue escorting a convoy of 17 ships to the ports of Azov and Rostov-on-Don.


Presently, there are 35 cargo ships in the Sea of Azov, 33 of them en route and 2 stricken ships, 71 vessels – in the Black Sea set to pass through the Kerch Strait (21 of them have ice-class). Besides, 85 ships (12 ice-classed) in the Sea of Azov are awaiting icebreakers to depart from the regional ports.
