CPV accepts delivery of two RTG cranes

Commercial Sea Port of Vladivostok (CPV, part of FESCO Group) has taken delivery of two Kalmar RTG cranes, the company said.

The handling equipment was purchased for RUB 110 million for operations at off-dock yard of berths number 14, 15, of Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT).

The RTG cranes were manufactured at Cargotec’s Shanghai-based plant. The cranes feature lifting capacity of 45 tons and performance - 27-30 operations per hour. The new cranes are scheduled to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2012. Currently, there have been 4 Kalmar RTG cranes operated at the VCT’s warehousing facilities.

In April 2012, VCT’s handling equipment fleet will be expanded with two Ship-To-Shore container cranes of 60-ton lifting capacity and manufactured by Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. Last year, CPV invested RUB 390 in procurement of handling equipment for Vladivostok Container Terminal.

Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok, member of FESCO Transport Group, owns and operates its assets at the port of Vladivostok, a premier Russian seaport in the Far East region. Port of Vladivostok encompasses 55 ha, over 14 km of waterfront featuring 17 berths with terminals for handling grain, containers, imported vehicles, as well as a passenger terminal. In 2011, CPV’s cargo throughput fell 7.8% year-over-year to 6.38 million tons.
