Shipyard Lotos (Lotus) laid keels of two non-self-propelled pontoons for ARC Shipping, a Russian producer and transporter of oil products, said Caspian Energy Group, a major stockholder of the shipbuilding firm.
The contract worth 300 million rubles includes three pontoons to be constructed under the leasing scheme with the participation of the lessor - JSC Goznak-Leasing.
The vessels delivery is scheduled for December 2012.
The pontoons are designed for transportation of mixed cargoes and operations on inland waters, bays, estuaries and open sea.
General characteristics: length overall - 85.2 m, breadth - 16.5 m, depth - 4.5 m, maximum draft - 3.25 m, deadweight - 3000 tons, displacement - 1100 tons.
Astrakhan-based Lotos Shipyard specializes in the construction of modules for fixed offshore drilling platforms, designed for offshore exploration and production of oil and gas. The shipbuilding company’s major stockholders are United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Caspian Energy Group (CNRG) and the Astrakhan regional government. Since 2012 the shipbuilding company has been under control of USC.
