Zim hikes rates on Europe-Med trades

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. has announced that it will implement a General Rate Increase (GDI) on all cargo shipped between North Europe and East Med & Israel, the shipping company said on Wednesday.
 
 
The GDI will be as follows:

Eastbound $120 per teu, Eur 90.- per TEU (if freight paid in Euro currency).
Westbound $ 60 per teu, Eur 45.- per TEU (if freight paid in Euro currency).
Effective date 8 April, 2012.

The rate will be increased on the trade from Adriatic to East Med & Israel:

Eastbound $100 per TEU, Eur 75.- per TEU( if freight paid in Euro currency.)
Effective date 8 April, 2012

These updates are necessary in order to maintain our current levels of service and high reliability
