Icebreaker Krasin bound to the port of Vanino

The FESCO owned icebreaker "Krasin" is en route to the Port of Vanino to escort ships convoy, for the sixth time during this winter navigation, the icebreaker owner said.

Currently, all icebreakers owned by Far Easter Shipping Company are in time-charter of various companies and organizations: the icebreaker "Magadan" assist shipping in the port of Magadan, the Kapitan Khlebnikov escorts LNG carriers to/from the port of Prigorodnoye, the Admiral Makarov and the Krasin are also busy escorting large-capacity tankers to / from the Port De Kastri.

Before this winter season Rosmorport and FESCO had signed an agreement for time-charter of FESCO’s icebreakers Admiral Makarov and Krasin for icebreaking operations at approaches to the ice-bound port of Vanino. So, the two vessels were deployed in the area to ensure smooth navigation to the ports of De Kastri and Vanino.

As of March 12, 2012 one order for icebreaking service has been performed by the Admiral Makarov while the Krasin (build date 1976) escorted four times ship convoys.
