MSC to hike rates on Far East-New Zealand service

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) to be implemented for any container of any type of cargo shipped from North Europe, the UK, Scandinavia/Baltic and Russia to the Middle Eease, the company press release said.

The rate increase will be US$ 100 per container, effective from April 15, 2012 B/L date.

Geneva-headquartered Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC) was founded in 1970. Now it is the world's second shipping line in terms of container vessel capacity. MSC's fleet, which operates in all major ports of the world, comprises 444 vessels and has a capacity of 1,925,000 TEUs.
