Taiwanese box line Wan Hai Lines suffered a massive fall in profit in 2011 as revenue dipped and operating costs climbed, Seatrade Asia online reports. Largely an intra-Asia player, Wan Hai recorded a 2011 net profit of NT$20.31m ($687,831) compared to a profit of NT$5.45bn in 2010.
The Taipei-listed line registered revenue of NT$62.7bn compared to NT$64.71bn a year ago.
Operating costs for Wan Hai rose to NT$63.03bn, up from NT$54.55bn in the previous year.
